(The 40-Hour Professional Mediation Training) 


About the course

The Kenya School of Law invites you to the 50-hour professional mediation training program to be run between the 11th and 15th of May 2026.

The Course provides detailed and comprehensive training for professionals seeking core mediation skills through ‘hands-on’, interactive and experiential learning. The participants will have ample opportunity to practice the skills learned through simulations and role-plays. 

The training will be provided by internationally-renowned, highly-experienced tutors, combining classroom and extensive practical sessions, workshops, mentoring and a written examination to help you qualify as a professional mediator.

Areas of Focus

·       Mediation Processes & Theories: Understanding conflict dynamics, negotiation techniques, and structured mediation phases.

·       Ethics & Skills: Focus on neutrality, confidentiality, active listening, and power balancing.

·       Practical Training: Role-playing, simulation exercises, and case studies to gain hands-on experience.

·       Legal Framework: Understanding Court-Annexed Mediation and relevant laws in Kenya.

 

Training Outcomes:

At the end of the course you should be able to:

  •              Manage the mediation process effectively

  •    Develop and refine questioning techniques

  •   Develop and refine negotiation skills

  •   Move beyond intractability

  •             Settle disputes and conflicts effectively

Your Investment: Ksh. 60,000 (non-East Africans: USD 1,000) inclusive of VAT and registration fee.  (Covers tuition fees, course materials, stationery, lunch and refreshments). NOTE that where a person who has registered for the course pulls out within 7 days to the date of training, the School shall deduct 25% of the tuition fee to cover administrative expenses.

Money should be deposited in the School’s Account (Account No. 202 2029 110 Absa Bank PLC, Absa Plaza Branch, Nairobi, Kenya) and banking slip presented to the Finance Office. Please note that we would wish to have your duly completed application form and proof of payment by 12.00 p.m. on 6th May 2026, to enable us to adequately prepare for the course. Late applicants should confirm availability of space before paying for the course.
